Government of Alberta offers an economic immigration program for skilled and semi-skilled workers interested to live and work in Alberta. It is offered in collaboration with the Government of Canada's Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The candidates are nominated by the province and Government of Canada
takes the final decision. Applications can be submitted through one of the following categories:
Compulsory and Optional Trades:
In this Strategic Recruitment Stream applicants can apply without an employer. If you are having a valid trade certificate in a compulsory or optional trade in Alberta issued or recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT), then you may qualify.
Engineering Occupations:
In this Strategic Recruitment Stream applicants can apply without an employer. If you are a temporary foreign worker having work experience in an eligible occupation in Alberta, you may apply.
Post-Graduate Worker:
In this Strategic Recruitment Stream applicants can apply without an employer. If you are holding a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit, currently working in Alberta, and graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Alberta, you may apply.
Skilled Worker:
In this Employer-Driven Stream, an employer's support is required. If you are offered a permanent and full-time job by an Alberta employer in an eligible skilled occupation, you can be eligible.
International Graduate:
In this Employer-Driven Stream, an employer€™s support is required. If you have recently graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada, have a Post-Graduation Work Permit, and have been offered a permanent and full-time job by an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation, then you can apply.
Semi-Skilled Worker:
In this Employer-Driven Stream, an employer's support is required. If you have been offered a full-time, permanent job by an Alberta employer in an eligible semi-skilled occupation, and you are a temporary foreign worker you may become eligible for the nomination. Along with the minimum language standards, some selected occupations and industries are eligible in this category.
Self-Employed Farmer:
You have the financial resources and farm management experience to purchase and establish a farm in Alberta? Congratulations! you are eligible to apply under this stream.
