To fulfil the needs of the labour market and economic development priorities, Ontario has designed the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) which allows individuals with skills and experience to apply for permanent residence.


Ontario Express Entry:

Two new streams are created by the province of Ontario for the skilled workers who are willing to settle permanently in Ontario


  • Ontario Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities Stream
  • Ontario Express Entry: French- Speaking Worker Stream


The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program select applicants who have completed their required education, skilled work experience, language ability and other eligibility rules.


Foreign Worker with Job Offer:

Following eligibility criteria is required to be fulfilled by the job offer held by a foreign worker:


  • be an approved permanent, full-time job offer in a highly skilled occupation (NOC 0, A or B), and
  • meets the prevailing wage levels in Ontario for that occupation.
  • The foreign worker must also:


have two years of relevant work experience in the last five years, or the relevant mandatory licensing in Ontario for a regulated occupation, and

be residing abroad or residing, working or visiting Canada on a valid work permit, study permit or visitor record.


International Student Category:

International students who have completed their studies or will soon graduate from a publicly assisted Canadian college or university and have a permanent full-time job offer from an Ontario employer, may apply under this category for PR. Masters and PhD graduates, however, do not need to have a job offer to be eligible under this category.
